It's an unsettling time all over the world at the moment due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
While many of us are still coming to terms with the changes to our daily lives, it's important to take the Government's advice regarding self-isolation.
For some of us it's hard to ask for help (we all love our independence), but for the safety of yourself and others it's important that you do. We're hoping to make asking for support that little bit easier for you, your relatives or friends. The 'Submit request for Support' links in this site will take you to a form, allowing you to request support from teams of Desford residents volunteering to help you with essential things you may need. See the 'How we can help' section below for more details.
This site also provides links to Government and NHS websites where you will find the latest advice relating to Coronavirus. Further information and support can be obtained from Age UK and Relay UK for residents with a hearing impairment or speech impediment.
For anyone classified as extremely vulnerable, click the link to register on the Government website. If you have a medical condition that makes you extremely vulnerable to coronavirus you’ll be able to ask for help, including getting deliveries of essential supplies like food. If you’re not sure whether your medical condition makes you extremely vulnerable, register anyway. You can register yourself, or for someone else.
